John L Micek of the Morning Call needs another fact-checker

John L Micek of the Allentown Morning Call has a factual error in his story of April 30, 2006. He claims that retired Gen. Tommy Franks has "called on Rumsfeld to step down." This is just not true. Franks agrees with Rumsfeld and so does retired Gen. Myers who was the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Get a new fact checker Micek or maybe the facts don't matter.
Micek uses retired Gen. Zinni as an example of generals speaking out against Rumsfeld. Zinni has done this but he is not credible. He was a Clinton appointee and sulked when he didn't get a promotion. His major gripe is that Rumsfeld didn't listen to the generals when it came time to reorganize the military. A quick check shows otherwise.
Anxious to defuse the tension, Rumsfeld told Washington Post reporter Tom Ricks that during his 115 day tenure he'd met with General Henry Shelton, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, 91 times. He'd also had 170 meetings with 44 general and flag officers and 70 meetings with 125 members of Congress, excluding phone calls and lunches. He'd also held what quickly became characterized as a "combative" session with the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and promised to participate in more such. As for the gripes of unnamed "senior officers" – since there were about 885 relevant generals and admirals "I’m sure there are people who don’t feel involved."
Maybe one of them was Gen. Zinni, the whiner!
This is from http://www.discovery.org/scripts/viewDB/index.php?command=view&program=Defense&id=655

Take a look at what Michael O'Hanlon from the Brookings Institute had to say. The Morning Call loves to quote O'Hanlon.

"One defense analyst, Michael O¡¯Hanlon of the liberal Brookings Institution, summed it well: "So far, the main criticism of Rumsfeld seems to be that he is doing too much listening and not enough leaking."
Leaking to the press that is!
Zinni is steamed that Rumsfeld didn't take his advice to wait for 50,000 troops to destroy the Taliban. The military did it with small units and the actions are already being heralded by military historians as one of the greatest in the history of warfare. The British couldn't defeat the Afghanis, nor could the Soviet Union. Zinni was wrong here. In Iraq he is also wrong. Saddam was defeated in an amazing campaign. Less soldiers haved died due to combat deaths in Iraq in the last 3 years than during President Carter's last year in office when there wasn't a war. That is AMAZING. You wouldn't know it from reading John L Micek and the Allentown Moron Call.

Mohammed is da bomb!!

The staff here at the PIE voted this as the number one cartoon that iritates jihadists. Looks like that Iranian president, the one with the bomb.

Religion of "Peace" cartoons

The Allentown Morning Call never published any of the "offending" cartoons because they lack honesty and integrity. We just thought we would offer them up because some websites were hacked yesterday by cartoon jihadists in Saudi Arabia. The cartoon jihadists temporarily shut-down websites that had published the Mohammed cartoons. We were hoping that the jihadists might pay attention to us so we decided to show you the cartoons honoring Mohammed.

Mohammed Cartoons

Let's start the weekend off with some cartoons. Kids always like the cartoons in the paper, especially on Sunday because they are in color. Enjoy.

May 1, A Day Without Illegal Immigrants

Read this item from Congressman Steve King. Salute to John Hawkins for the quote.

"Perhaps the May 1st boycott should give America a glimpse into "A Day Without ILLEGAL Immigration."

What would that May 1st look like without illegal immigration? There would be no one to smuggle across our southern border the heroin, marijuana, cocaine, and methamphetamines that plague the United States, reducing the U.S. supply of meth that day by 80%. The lives of 12 U.S. citizens would be saved who otherwise die a violent death at the hands of murderous illegal aliens each day. Another 13 Americans would survive who are otherwise killed each day by uninsured drunk driving illegals. Our hospital emergency rooms would not be flooded with everything from gunshot wounds, to anchor babies, to imported diseases to hangnails, giving American citizens the day off from standing in line behind illegals. Eight American children would not suffer the horror as a victim of a sex crime.

On the negative side, the price of a pound of tomatoes might go up from $0.79 to $0.80. That is unless you have a garden. But I'm guessing that the Mexican drug lords are not taking May 1st off. Neither will the 11,000 illegal invaders that pour over our border every other day of the year." -- Republican Congressman Steve King

Nuestro Himno | Chicago Tribune Latino US National Anthem

Here are the words to the "new" Latino national anthem. Pushy little buggers aren't they. There is an attempt to change the debate to immigrants and their value to the US. The debate must remain on ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. This includes illegal Irish immigrants as well. This is not an anti-Mexican movement although it might soon turn that way if these ILLEGAL MEXICAN IMMIGRANTS keep up this crap. Read the new anthem for yourself.

Gas Prices Outpaced Only by the Rhetoric

The liberals and their ilk in the media blame President Bush for rising gas prices. Demand by China and India are responsible but so are the liberals.
Most of the worlds ills are due to liberalism. Read the article and decide for yourself.

More on the CIA leaks and Mary McCarthy

It seems there is a major connect between the Democrat party and the leaker. McCarthy also has connections with Dana Priest, the Pulitzer Prize winner from the Washington Post. Here is John Hinderaker over at Powerline summing it all up. This is great!

"So we have a Democratic Party activist violating federal law by leaking classified information to an antiwar activist on the payroll of the Washington Post, which publishes the criminal leak and is awarded a prize by the left-wing Pulitzer committee."

Read the entire article. If this were the Republican Party with a party activist leaking to a conservative paper information which is intended to undermine a Democrat president, you know damn well the dead-tree media along with the networks would be all over this.

The 36th annual Earth Day has come and gone. It should be celebrated for what has been done. Instead, it is used to issue more fear and politicized science. Emissions are way down even though there are twice as many cars as when the first Earth Day was held in 1970. Read the article.

NBC: CIA officer fired after leak - U.S. Security - MSNBC.com

Mary McCarthy is a traitor. She gave secrets to the Washinton Post and has been fired from the CIA.
Dana Priest, the reporter she gave secret information to, received a Pulitzer Prize. Priest should also be charged with treason. We have people here at the PIE who would volunteer for Priest's firing squad.

Bill Crawford on Iraq on National Review Online

The news the dead-tree media will not print. More good news from Iraq. It is beyond contemptable that the Morning Call and other media do not report ANY of these events. No where are they to be found.
Carpenter, White, and the rest of the crew at the MCall are poor journalists.

Allentown PA is set to install cameras

In Friday's Morning Call, a story appeared about Allentown applying for a grant. The grant would be for "12 to 15 cameras." These cameras would be located in Allentown along Hamilton street and areas just outside the main business district. We think it is a great idea. When we first read the story, we knew that the editors or self-declared "supervoters" of the Morning Call would be in favor of the cameras being installed. We also knew that the hypocracy of some of the staff at the paper would come out. The editorial board didn't waist much time.
The editors at the Allentown Morning Call are in favor of the cameras. The hypocracy is evident when the editorial board discusses surveillance of phone calls that are from numbers that have been found on captured terrorists cell phones. This is what the US government is doing but the liberal "supervoter" editors at the Morning Call are against this.
The installation of cameras is clearly a case of "warrantless search." The police are "searching" for evidence of criminal wrongdoing. At least with the surveillance that the US is conducting they have some information pointing to the phone numbers being used, as having some connection with terrorists. Computers and cell phones captured during the campaign against Islamic terrorism have been useful because of the wealth of info, including phone numbers, found on them. This information must be used in a timely manner before the terrorists are aware that they have been compromised. This is why the surveillance of phone calls which travel to areas of concern with respect to terrorism, is so critical. There is more reason to fear Big Brother with the installation of cameras then there is with the surveillance of phone numbers found on terrorists cell phones.
Liberals of course are usually intellectually dishonest so we at the PIE didn't expect anything but support for the camera plan. Think about this question. IN WHICH OF THE TWO SITUATIONS ARE YOU MORE LIKELY TO BE WATCHED BY THE GOVERNMENT. WALKING IN ALLENTOWN IF THE CAMERAS ARE INSTALLED OR USING YOUR CELL PHONE TO CALL HOME?

If the editors at the Morning Call were intellectually honest they would be against the installation of cameras in Allentown. The last statement of the editorial says it all, "Crime prevention and detection, plus evidence of false accusations, outweigh a relatively small loss of privacy." The staff here at the PIE couldn't agree more. The "prevention and DETECTION" of terrorism does "outweigh a relatively small loss of privacy." It is too bad that the Allentown Morning Call doesn't understand that concept when it comes to Islamic terrorism.
We can't wait to read what Paul Carpenter and Bill White have to say. We will keep you informed.

First Dem into the contest is Mike Gravel from Alaska.
He will be 76 years of age in May. He lives inside the Beltway so he is liberal and he has a written a couple books according to his biography. CITIZEN'S POWER: A PEOPLE'S PLATFORM was written published in 1972. Whenever the staff here at the PIE sees the word People's, we immediately become suspicious. He is a liberal. He doesn't have a chance.
